“We’re in the midst of a reckoning — where survivors are joining together and shining light into the darkness…so others can find their way out and perpetrators can no longer hide.”

~Tracy DeTomasi, Callisto CEO

Introduction

With the release of the Epstein files, there has been an increasing spotlight on the pervasiveness of serial sexual assault and all the ways survivors are silenced and dismissed. We have seen how rarely dots are connected before countless victims have been harmed, and how our current systems so frequently force survivors to fight for decades and publicly expose their trauma, only to have those in power (literally and figuratively) turn their back on them.

Day of Reckoning

Why don’t victims report? The answer to this question has never been more clear.

Callisto: An Innovative Solution

Callisto is a national nonprofit that uses cutting-edge technology to tackle serial sexual assault. Our Matching System is the first of its kind encrypted tool that enables survivors to safely and securely find out if their perpetrator has harmed others…without requiring them to report or go public. Survivors who match in our system (by entering the same perpetrator) can then meet with a confidential advocate to explore their options. By putting control back in survivors’ hands, protecting their privacy, and helping facilitate collective action (if that’s what they want), Callisto gives survivors something powerful and new — an opportunity to regain control without risking greater harm.

Day of Reckoning: Turning Outrage into Action

Callisto’s Matching System is an innovative and powerful solution. But it is only as powerful as how many people know about (and use) it. That is why this year we will be hosting a Day of Reckoning on Friday, April 24th. While survivors with access (those with a .edu email from a U.S. college) can enter into Matching any day, we believe that a day where more people are spreading the word about Callisto and entering into Matching will increase the likelihood they will find a match. And matches don’t just mean an increased likelihood of perpetrators facing accountability…it means survivors regaining control, knowing they are not alone, and releasing the sense of helplessness or self-blame they may be experiencing.

Whether you are a survivor, ally, or advocate, you can join us!

When is it?

Friday, April 24th
