Callisto Helps Survivors Heal…Even When They Don’t Match
Callisto’s encrypted technology, particularly the Matching System, is designed to address serial sexual assault by helping those who have been harmed by the same perpetrator safely find each other.
”But what about those who don’t match?”
This is a common question. And we typically start by explaining that, just because a match does not happen immediately, doesn’t mean that it won’t. Even within a private and encrypted system, it can take survivors time to recognize their experience was sexual harm, learn about Callisto, and go through the process of entering.
In fact, we have had matches that have occurred well over a year apart, and others involving survivors from opposite coasts.
And, while matching within the system can be a powerful and validating experience, even simply entering into Matching can be incredibly empowering and facilitate healing.
One survivor described this beautifully:
Whether or not survivors decide to go public, report, or pursue justice through the court system, ALL survivors deserve a space that honors what they have been through…where they can say “This was done to me. And it matters.”
If you want to help ensure that more survivors know about and have access to this innovative technology, please support our work below. Thanks to our friends at The Wild Giving Project—donations will be DOUBLED through April!
